Steven Sim

Vice President, ISACA SINGAPORE CHAPTER

 

Steven has over 22 years of experience working with large enterprises and he has driven cybersecurity master plans, developed security standards, risk managed threats, performed vulnerability research, managed incidents and promoted awareness. He holds a Masters in Computing and is an APMG-accredited trainer for CGEIT, CRISC, CISM, CISA and a CCISO and CISSP. He also held SANS certifications in industrial control security, malware analysis, incident handling and perimeter protection. During his career, he developed a strategy for inexpensive automated containment of infected/vulnerable systems presented at FIRST conference aiding a NIQCC gold win.

Steven has also undertaken roles with various security associations and is the current Vice President at ISACA Singapore Chapter. At one point, he directed the setup of the largest honeynet project outside US. Besides being a frequent speaker and panellist at international, regional and local cybersecurity and maritime conferences, he also judges at various hacking competitions and cyber security awards. He is a Singapore SkillsFuture Fellow and was a finalist for the Leaders category in the Inaugural The Cybersecurity Awards 2018 held in Singapore.
