Willem Van den Abeele is the Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for ENGIE South East Asia,
part of the ENGIE Group. ENGIE is a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, committed
to accelerating the transition towards a carbon-neutral world through reduced energy consumption
and environmentally friendly solutions.
Willem oversees the full spectrum of operational and transactional finance activities across the
region, including project bids and commercial proposals, accounting and consolidation, financial
planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, and tax functions across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. He actively supports regional business growth and operational excellence and co-chairs investment commitment committees, while also leading transformation initiatives across the organisation. Willem is a member of the Executive Committee for ENGIE South East Asia and serves as a director for several of its entities and joint ventures.
Prior to his current role, Willem assumed leadership finance roles within ENGIE across 4
continents, covering both in transactional and operational finance.
Willem holds a Master of Law and Economics from the University of Rotterdam in the Netherlands
and a Master of Applied Economics from the University of Ghent in Belgium.
